TWO WOMEN MEET IN SECRET: A HANDLER AND AN ASSET.
A subtle exploration of trust, betrayal, violence and surveillance “Close Observations of a Single Subject” examines what happens when women in aggressively male worlds are faced with the choice to compromise themselves and one another.
The first narrative short film written and directed by Ming-Zhu Hii, "Close Observations of a Single Subject" makes use of timeless espionage cinema tropes and poetic abstraction to explore a delicate and complex relationship between two women in a very dangerous situation.
The film features impeccable, deeply moving performances from two of Australia's most respected actors, Daniela Farinacci and Edwina Wren, a haunting, minimalist score by Russell Goldsmith and sumptuous visceral cinematography from Kevin Campbell.
"Close Observations" is a Find & Replace film, distributed worldwide by Gonella Productions.
